It’s not easy to tell what science fairs and science projects are all about. The best way to find out is to do a project and take it to a science fair. This chapter provides “starting points” for projects and these “starting points” have been chosen to give students practice that will help them warm up for a real science fair. If this is the first time a student has worked on a science project, they may want to choose one of the exercises with one or two asterisks, and for experienced students, they should try an exercise marked with three asterisks.
