Teacher Guide for What's Wrong With Me, Doc? Analyzing Medical Records

by: Nicole H. Maller

This chapter focuses on a residency program at Vanguard Hospital. The students analyze four patients’ medical records containing their symptoms, lifestyle habits, and family medical histories. Once the team has developed a hypothesis for each patient, it is recorded on the medical chart. The medical charts will play a vital role in the final diagnosis, so detail is important, as well the evidence as to why you believe each patient has the suggested health condition. This Teacher Guide chapter highlights the Before the Lesson, During the Lesson, and After the Lesson instructions and suggests the teacher read prior to starting the lesson.
