The article was written by one of the members in the original team which created the 5E Learning Model more than 25 years ago. In this article, the author expressed that he did not expect the tremendous application and modification of the model, and he proposes his personal reflections to each phase of the 5E model: Engaging, Exploring, Explaining, Elaborating, Evaluating. Most importantly, in his implication section of this article, he gives his own perspectives on the appropriate application of this instructional model and whether each phase can be omitted or not, he effectively and comprehensively answers some critical questions in terms of teaching sequence, evaluation and he also encourage instructors to use the model with full recognition of his or her students.
