This article by Bill Robertson is very confusing at first. It describes an analemma. An analemma is a combination of the Earth's tilt and its elliptical orbit combined to generate a figure "8" pattern of where the Sun appears at the same time throughout the year. After reading this article through a couple of times slowly I now understand it!! Take your time reading and it will make sense!!
