Overall I thought this was a great e-book. I learned a lot more about cells that did not know previously. I recommend this e-book to any educator that wants to become more knowledgeable about cells or review what they already know before getting in the classroom. The interactive components of the book were very helpful. The impeded quizzes helped you review your knowledge and prepare for the end assessment!

I chose to dive into this E-Book because I was curious about what resources I could find related to cell structure and function. I think this E-Book was full of interesting and relevant information that can be useful for teachers and students. I liked the interactive aspects of the book. It offered a change from just reading the test but instead let me interact with things that I read about. Overall, this was a great interactive E-Book!

This e-book was very helpful! I think this is a SUPER educational resource for middle and high schoolers. I recognized a lot of the information in the e-book but also learned new things as well. I feel like this would be a really great additional resource for students to use and is helpful because of the sections it's broken into.

This was an informative and helpful e-book to complete! I did not realize how much I had forgotten about cells, their structure, and function until reviewing the context in this e-book! I enjoyed how interactive it was, had very engaging and bright photographs, and it I was surprised at how easy to use it was. I enjoyed taking the quizzes and doing the games as they made the learning more engaging and fun to learn about cells and their function. One draw back was when I used the "English Read Aloud" tool, I noticed the automated-voice had trouble saying quoted words or phrases and would occasionally insert "quo-" or "qwah" when trying to say "quote" and then the word or phrase it was quoting. This was distracting when following along with the book as I was reading. Another draw back was on page 89 when it was reading "Figure 73" and mentioned the hydrogen atoms were red when the image displayed white. But other than those two issues, this e-book provided great and simple details to explain what cells are, their history, structure, and function. It made the learning process very engaging and fun!

This book was super helpful. It provided a lot of details without feeling like it was bombarding you with information. The quizzes at the end of each chapter were enough to keep me on track and make me look back if I didn't get it on the first attempt. The review every couple of slides usually had a question that felt well-picked and helpful. It kept me interested the whole way and was the perfect length. My only gripe would be that some of the questions came before we were given the information, but it wouldn't be enough to knock a star off (especially because it could just be my own reading comprehension!) I definitely would recommend this E-book!

This e-Book was an enjoyable read, not only because of the plethora of information that is written on every page, but because of the interactive components that kept me engaged the entire time. My knowledge of cells and their structure and function was pretty high because of my extensive classes in high school and college, but the information I learned from this book compiles everything I knew into an easy-to-read text. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about cells because of the detailed images, interactive components, and detailed information that covers every page.

Not only was this e-Book very informative and helpful for my lesson plan, it also was very enjoyable to read! I thought it was so interesting to learn all of these different things about cells, their structures, and how these structures are related to how they function. I thought I had learned everything I needed to know about cells in high school, but I learned so much more from this book. This is definitely worth the read.

If you have not yet tried e-books with your science curriculum, this is an excellent addition that you will find yourself using quite often. The NSTA e-books are developed in a way that it covers most, if not all, of your content standards. Students are engaged and interested. Each e-book includes videos, activities, review questions, and quizzes. What I love about this e-book is its ability to make the "invisible" visible. Before using this resources I had clips and video link everywhere. I would go back and forth to try and provide a visual for my students. Everything you need is in this e-book! The images of cells are superb in quality. The interactive videos are highly engaging and memorable when it comes to test time. These e-books are very easy to navigate for both teacher and student. I highly recommend them.

Cell Structure and Function is one of NSTA’s new eBooks. I found it to be a well designed resource that covers four science objectives: “The Basis of Life”, “The Cellular Factory”, “The Molecular Machinery”, and “The Most Important Molecule”. This book is beautifully illustrated with photos, graphics, and images found on every page. I also appreciated the fact that all of the lessons had audio to accompany the text. Teachers will be pleased with the “Common Student Preconceptions” that are found throughout the book. This helps them understand when their students may have a different understanding of the material. There were slideshows, animations, interactive visuals, and “Hands-on-Activities”. I found the interactive simulations very useful when I needed to demonstrate a concept. This eBook also included a “Search” button that allowed me to search for information using just a few key words. And the “Check Your Thinking”, found every few pages, provided my students the opportunity to answer discussion or short answer questions in more depth. Another great feature was the “Review What You Learned”. This feature provided my students, in a multiple-choice format, the opportunity to review the concepts they had just covered. As an assessment, a quiz is included at the end of each Science Objective. At the end of the book, teachers will find the correlation of the new NGSS standards, Science for All Americans, and Benchmarks for Science Literacy are discussed. I highly recommend this book to educators and students wanting an excellent and proven means to learn the content needed for curriculum and instruction about Cell Structures and Functions.

This E-book provided me with a review on cells and helped to refresh my knowledge. As a student and preservice teacher myself, I am constantly trying to remember information so that I am giving my students the best learning experience. By keeping my own knowledge up to date, I am able to do this. The knowledge checks and quizzes throughout this E-book gave me the reviews and tests of my knowledge I needed. As you read this, make sure you understand the key concepts before moving on and completing the concluding quiz. Additionally, know that when you pass that concluding quiz, there are no more attempts to get a better score.

This e-book was very informational. I think it is a great online resource for educators to use with middle or high school students. This e-book could be an incredible resource during the time of online and distance learning. Overall, the information was easy to read, however, I did find some of the questions on the final assessment to be worded in a confusing way.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this cell structure and function e-book. All of the information went into great detail and did a good job explaining all parts of the cell and their functions. The activities throughout the book were very engaging and helped me understand the content better. I also liked the short quizzes and checking for understanding throughout the book as well.

This is a good resource to teach students about the structure and function of cells however it is wordy at times, there were a few sections I had to read over more than once. The pictures were very helpful and kept the book engaging, they also provided good visuals that helped me understand some of the concepts that weren't as easy to understand. I found the chapter quiz's very useful for helping me recall the big ideas that I had read in the previous chapter. When I got to the final assessment I felt as though the questions were a good representation of everything I had read in the book. There weren't a ton of questions so not all of the big concepts were covered however the questions came from a variety of places throughout the book. The information and visuals in this textbook could be used to plan a variety of engaging science lessons.

First, the layout and presentation of this e-book is beautiful and full of great and useful information. If helped me organize how I will teach these topics. The way I used it with my students is by showing the graphics in class and then used the accompanying questions to see if they got it. It is another visual way to add to the diversity of teaching tools to try and engage our students.
