I chose to complete this Interactive e-book over all of the others, because I love learning about this topic. This intercative e-book helped me refresh on this topic. The short quizzes throughout the book helped me prepare for the final assessment. I will be using this in my future classroom.

The Flow of Matter and Energy in Ecosystems ebook was very informative. I am currently teaching my 4th graders about Ecosystems and how energy flows through an ecosystem. This ebook gave me new details, not provided in my school's curriculum, and wonderful visuals to use with my students. I particularly liked the interactive trophic pyramid that showed the effects of organisms increasing or decreasing on different levels of the pyramid. I enjoyed the videos and interactive experiments throughout the ebook. I also enjoyed the quiz questions throughout the ebook to test my knowledge of what I just learned. I felt this helped me to focus on the content that was introduced to me. Overall, this ebook is a wonderful resource.

This interactive E-Book is very informative and extremely helpful resource for a Science Teacher. It covered all the important aspects to consider while prepping to teach "The flow of energy and matter in the ecosystem" It also gives an elaborated knowledge of food chains and foodwebs via pictuces, diagrams,graphs and how they are interconnected. The interactive activities,informative video slides and review what you learned tabs were a great help to enhance and test your knowledge for better understanding of the concepts. Moreover this book consists of Common Student Preconceptions and hands on activities which are undoubtley a big help for techers while preplanning lessons and engaging their students throughout the unit.Discussion Forum and NSTA online tabs are very helpful to ask any further questions from experts and community.Overall, I highly recommend this book as it is a very valuable resource for any and to-be science teachers in planning lesson plans and assessment purpose. This resource was beneficial when creating my lesson plan for my 5th graders. It provided me with an immense amount of information on ecosystems, food chains, and food webs. In addition, this book included amazing visuals and interactive activities that tested you on what you just read to ensure comprehension of the text. They also provided many videos, which were engaging and interesting, which I included in my lesson, and my kids enjoyed watching and were eager to learn more. I would definitely recommend this book to other teachers for assessment ideas and fun tools that this book includes.

This was an incredible resource. It was engaging and fun, it reaffirmed language and content that was very useful in formulation a effective lesson plan to 5th graders. It provided me with the material I needed to insure I was prepare to teach such topics to my students. Since this resource was so interactive and continuous checkins for understanding I really feel that I prepared better than I would have every thought. I love how each page was filled with ample amount of information and was really engaging to the ready. This was an amazing research and I would recommend it over and over again!

This resource is super helpful. It allows students the opportunity to learn an immense amount about the elements of the ecosystem while still having fun. The activities are extremely engaging and relate perfectly to the content at hand. The quizzes and check what you know questions will help keep track of progress. This book is amazing science tool for both teachers and students, insuring comprehensive understanding of the material and engagement throughout.

This resoucre was very helpful and comprehensive. Within the text there are links for videos, additional models, and demonstrations. The quizzes placed along the way were very helpful to me because I could make sure I had remembered all the important information from each section. After you read the whole book, you can take an assessment on the material as a whole. This e-book was easier to learn from than a traditional textbook because of the interactive element. The only thing I miss compared to a physical book is that I can't take handwritten notes on the actual book or underline parts of the text.

This interactive e-book really brought science learning to life and served many purposes. This source provides not only written text, but it also creates an engaging experience for the reader. For each chapter within the book, there are checkpoints that test your knowledge and interactive labs that put the information into practice. The checkpoints allowed me to see which concepts of the chapter I might need to re-read and the interactive labs further deepened my understanding of the topics. I recommend this source to any science learner interested in learning more about the flow of matter in ecosystems, as this source was extremely helpful to me in planning for my lesson on ecosystems. Do not be overwhelmed by the length of the book because each page has something new and engaging to offer!

This Interactive E-book was awesome! The author did a nice job of organizing the information in a strategic way. I specifically liked the interactive labs and powerpoint throughout the chapters in order to give a visual of the information that was provided. It was nice to have the table of contents right in the beginning of the book that allowed us to see what exactly we would be reading in each chapter. The short quizzes at the end of each chapter were useful to test how well we understood the concepts that were presented. If you got the answer incorrect, it even provided you with an explanation as to why, as well as where in the textbook you can find the reasoning. All of these quizzes helped me feel very prepared when it was time to take the final exam. While this resource was jam packed with information, all of the information was useful, helpful, and engaging. I would definitely recommend this resource to anyone who wants to learn more about ecosystems!

This interactive e-book was organized and laid out really well. It was super easy to follow along and the title pages before each chapter helped prepare me for the material I was about to be exposed to. The interactive labs and comprehension checks allowed to make sure I was really understanding the material, not just reading it. I enjoyed how the comprehension checks told you if you got an answer wrong and explained why the answer was wrong. I made sure to jot down any questions I got wrong so I could refer back to them as needed. This book covers a lot of my favorite science topics so I was eager to work through it. I thought the chapters were a great length and provided lots of details and examples. By the time I was ready to take the final test, I felt very well prepared! Overall this is a great resouce!

This book was great! I really liked the interactive labs it has and quick knowledge checks it has along the way. I also liked that on those comprehension checks, it would explain why you got the answer right/wrong. This really helped when it came down the the final assessment. While it was a lot of information to take in, I felt that it was all valuable to know when teaching the subject. I would not change a thing!

I went into this topic knowing very little and came out feeling so much more confident in learning about the flow of matter and energy. The chapters were well written and it flowed. I was able to reinforce my learning by using the interactive pieces. These gave me a deeper understanding. Throughout the eBook, I took notes. This helped me to remember the material in detail so that I could feel successful during the mini quizzes throughout. I was thankful for those mini quizzes because I think it prepared me for the test at the end. I am excited for all of the resources to use in the classroom as well. Wonderful eBook!

I really enjoyed reading this interactive book! The information that was covered was explained in a way that was easy to understand and retain. Because I enjoy learning with hands on activities, the interactive lessons were helpful for me to learn about the concepts being taught without becoming bored. I also loved that there were many detailed lesson ideas, lesson plans, and science experiments provided throughout the book that could be used in the classroom to help students gain better knowledge about ecosystems, matter, and energy. When reading books online, I enjoy having access to a voice reader, which I feel helps me to retain information better, and the one included for this book worked fairly well. There were a few pages towards the end of the book in the Pedagogical section, where the voice reader did not work, however, for the bulk of the book it worked really well. I did feel that it was a little robotic, and would have been nice to have an actual narrator, however, this voice reader did its job well. I also enjoyed the quizzes given throughout the sections and at the end of the chapters. I was hoping to find a general link to the quizzes that I had completed so that I could go back and review them along with any information that I may have misunderstood. I did not see anything like this while reading this interactive book other than just being able to go back to retake the section quizzes. Overall, I really enjoyed reading and learning from this interactive book! I would highly recommend it!

This interactive e-book really helped me build my knowledge of the concepts relating to the flow of matter and energy in ecosystems! This resource is easy to navigate and includes helpful quizzes at the end of each chapter to check yourself and make sure that you're comprehending the information. The final assessment at the end of the book allowed me to ensure that I gained enough knowledge before planning my lesson regarding the flow of energy between organisms in food chains. There were many key details provided, however, I didn't feel overwhelmed with too much information. The e-book also has clear models with captions that allow readers to learn in a visual sense as well. I would definitely recommend adding this great resource to your library!

I would definitely recommend this E-book for educators to either update their own knowledge of the flow of energy or to use with their students. It includes detailed but easy-to-follow descriptions of each topic covered, including matter, carbon, and energy. It also includes interactive models that could be used with elementary students in class. Each topic is summarized with a quiz to check for understanding and there is a final assessment provided upon completion of the book. In terms of a recourse for educators, this Interactive E-Book can be a useful tool for use in and out of the classroom setting. There are a variety of ways to use this book at many grade level clusters and helps students create a foundation for the flow of energy in the world or become experts themselves on the topic. Teacher preparation, while important, sometimes is hard to track and educators may not be so confident with the material they are presenting - this E-Book erases all doubt through various checks after each chapter and a final assessment a the end. I found this e-book to be very helpful to create a lesson plan for fourth grade students about the flow of energy within an ecosystem. The e-book explained everything in a way that was concise and clear, which ultimately helped to strengthen my knowledge on the subject. The e-book had great visuals to help me better understand the concepts it discussed, such as an ecosystem, consumers, producers, and decomposers. It also included models for how energy moved within an ecosystem, and from this, I was able to figure out many different ideas on what to incorporate in my lesson plan. The book was easy to follow, and I found the interactive features to be very helpful to my own learning. Also, the e-book gave me ideas of examples to use within my own lesson plan, so it really helped me to plan a full lesson on the concept. After having read the e-book, I felt that I had confidence to teach fourth grade students about the subject, and answer any questions that they may have about the topic.

This interactive E-book was extremely useful and helpful. As someone who has never used a resource like this before, I found it to be user friendly and very easy to navigate. I truly learned so much from reading this! I am the type of person who needs to interact with something to get a better understanding of the material. Through this interactive E-book I was able to gain more knowledge than I thought possible. This E-book specifically did a fantastic job explaining the concepts of Flow of matter and Energy in Ecosystems. The book taught these concepts in a way that were easy to understand but still full of detail and important information. I used this book while developing a fifth grade lesson plan about ecosystems and food chains. This was a great resource that provided me with necessary information to create a cohesive lesson plan. As I advance in my journey to become a teacher and when I am a teacher in the future, I will be use to reference back to this interactive E-books and others provided by NSTA. The way in which the information is presented is clear, concise, and provides a thorough explanation of how different organisms obtain energy from one another. My favorite aspect of the e-book is how each image has captions that further explained the concept illustrated in the image. The images and information provided in this e-book helped to further develop my lesson on the flow of energy throughout an ecosystem. This e-book also inspired the food chain aspect of my lesson as well as the definitions of specific words I provided to the students such as producers, consumers, and decomposers. This is a great resource that is easy to use and also checks for understanding after each chapter. This enables the reader to fully understand the main concepts presented over the course of the book. Additionally, this book provides an assessment at the end that ties up all of the conceptual ideas and demonstrates how each idea is connected in some way. After having the opportunity to complete this interactive e-book, I felt more knowledgeable of the content and was able to gain a deeper appreciation of how to convey this information to elementary-aged students. This textbook is not only easy to use, but it provides thorough explanations of concepts that communicate the overall importance of the flow of energy in a variety of ecosystems. This book had a lot of very helpful scenarios and interactive labs that helped to really helped to understand the material that was being taught in the chapters. Although it was very dense and had a lot of information. these labs and graohs helped to add understanding and usefulness. The books information also flowed very well together. The information seemed very well organized and it was easy to see links between the concepts. The quizzes helped a lot with reviewing the material and the ability to go back and look at things I needed helped on also supported my comprehension of the book. It also gave an extensive background to the topic which was super helpful to me as I was planning a lesson on food webs and food chains!

I thought it was really well organized and provided me with all the information I needed to know about this content area. I really liked how the quizzes allowed me to check my understanding and gave you the correct answers if you got a question wrong. The simulations, interactive labs, and comprehension quizzes all made me feel very prepared to take the exam at the end. Along with that, I thought the chapters weren't too long or short and were very detailed to help me better understand this topic. This book gave was laid out extremely well and gave great information on the topic. I haven't worked with this material in years and was a bit apprehensive when I had to make a lesson plan on it, however, this book was the perfect tool to help me. The interactive labs and comprehension checks were a great way to reinforce the information in each chapter. The chapters themselves were long and had so much detail so the comprehension checks were really helpful especially when it would tell you why you got a question wrong. When it came to the final test I felt well prepared and passed on my first try! Overall, this is a great resource.

It was accessible and a great resource for recalling information I had previously learned. The e-book is easy to follow, yet thorough in explanations which would be great for students. A few of the interactive elements glitched the first time I tried to attempt them, but after refreshing the page, they worked great.
