The journal article brought up the important idea that assessing all children the same way does not always accurately describe their knowledge. The article was on a 6 day lesson on sound waves and it is one that seems very realistic for the classroom. It gave students the opportunity to create, draw, and verbally explain concepts, which is a wonderful way to go about assessment - especially for ELLs. I enjoyed how the lessons incorporated music and literature. Cross curriculum lessons are extremely valuable. I plan on using this type of lesson in my future classroom!
