This journal perfectly demonstrates how to visually show students how photosynthesis and cellular respiration and how those products are used in animals cells. Not only do the students get to build a giant leaf with all parts included, they also get to manipulate the pieces to show how photosynthesis and cellular respiration actually works.Then the students can create an animal cell to see how nutrients from the plant are used. This is a great way to break down a difficult topic and let the students see how things work for themselves. This article also gave pictures of what the leaf and animal cell should look like and it really went into depth to explain each concept. The journal included a list of materials, procedures, and a description of how to assess the students. This is something I can see myself using in my future classroom.

This is an excellent resource that enables the learner to internalize the steps involved with Photosynthesis. From clearly detailing how light energy is converted to chemical energy, and the storage of energy in the bonds of sugar, it provides the reader with enough information to help them internalize this essential process for life. I am looking forward to sharing this resource with my scholars.
