The book 'Next Time You See The Moon' would be a wonderful resource to use when planning a unit on the cycle of the moon or space. This book is perfect, because as the moon is going through its phases, you can refer back to the story to discuss what the specific type of moon is called. A feature I love about this book, is how it explains why we can see the moon in the daylight! Often, I have children ask me why they can see the moon if it is not "night time". This story has the tendency to peak students curiosity and keep them motivated, if you connect it to what is physically happening outside.
