This collection has resources that can relate to first grade. All resources in this collection correlate with the topic of using patterns to help describe the sun, moon, and stars. The web seminar is a seminar that discusses what our solar system looks like and what people have discovered about our solar system over the past years. The journal article is about how students can observe moon patterns by looking at how much of the moon is visible each night. Another journal article I found is a great resource to help explain to students why we can only see certain parts of the moon and the time we see it is dependent on our location of the Earth. My last resource is a lesson plan to do with your students to recognize the idea that the sun is the biggest star in the sky and why it appears larger than any other star. These four resources are a mix between getting the students to learn patterns and just learning about the sun, moon, and stars.
