Web Seminar Series

Teachers can accelerate learning for students when they develop classroom communities where students feel known and valued. We explore the connection between deep science learning and student opportunities to express, clarify, and represent their ideas in a supportive learning community while receiving feedback from their trusted peers and teacher.

The NSTA Web Seminar Series Prioritizing Relationships and Equity: Leveraging Student Ideas to Accelerate Learning starts August 9 and runs through August 30, 2022.

Learn strategies that can be leveraged in remote, blended, or face-to-face environments that equitably address students’ needs and honor the unique set of skills, experiences, and understandings that students bring with them.

Program dates:

The four live web seminars are scheduled from 7:00 – 8:30 PM Eastern time on the dates below:

• August 9, August 16, August 23, August 30, 2022

 During the four-part series participants have access to:

• A moderated private forum for group discussions with other participants.
• Digital resources and all NSTA online community tools (My Library, My Profile, Discussion Forums).
• Web seminar series archives including program recordings and curated collection of supporting resources (continued access after the series ends).

Participants will receive a certificate from NSTA after each live web seminar (1.5 hours per web seminar) as evidence of their attendance and participation.

Science Leaders Can Sponsor Groups of Educators!  Are you a state, district, or school leader responsible for providing professional learning experiences for K-12 educators?  Consider sponsoring a cohort of teachers to participate in the Prioritizing Relationships and Equity: Leveraging Student Ideas to Accelerate Learning web seminar series.

Cost to groups:

• $1,500 flat fee per cohort of 25 participants, regardless of their NSTA membership status. Additional participants (beyond 25) charged at $60 per person.
