I am in my first semester of student teaching, and I have a lesson for my second-grade class but I am having some trouble with making the lesson more challenging for the above grade level students. The lesson deals with the students being able to describe rocks using size, texture, and color. I was thinking of having them make their own descriptive group(s) and describing the rocks they have looked at in the independent practice.
