Our district will be hiring a new science teacher and when preparing for the upcoming interviews I pulled out my old list of interview questions and quickly realized that these were very out dated. The questions didn't address the essence of our current understanding of science education and learning. I imagine engaging the candidates in a 'next generation' of interview questions that would include prompts about the role of science talk, feedback, planning through phenomenon, storylines, collaboration, and flexible thinking. I was wondering if anyone had any great interview questions that they have used that helped to determine the NGSS mindset of potential candidates.
This is a great question and I'm looking forward to reading responses. I'm currently teaching myself more about NGSS. It just isn't part of the conversation in higher ed, at least where I teach.
