Hello I am teaching a 5E Lesson on plant parts, what can I do to engage the students at the beginning of the lesson without giving out too much information about the topic?

It looks like you are currently teaching first grade. Depending on what grows in your local environment, dandelion plants are ideal for showing plant parts, from roots to leaves to stems to various parts of the flower and seeds. Flowers with larger parts, such as fruit trees and later-flowering decorative plants, have larger flower parts so it is easier to see the details. Aside from learning the names of various plant parts, what do you want children to learn? Planning a lesson that will unfold over time, such as growing food to eat, will teach children more about the functions of the various plant parts and the variety and diversity in plants.
