My district has decided to offer an advanced 7th and 8th grade science class to our students beginning next school year (2016-2017). I've been asked to teach these two classes and am very excited (not to mention nervous) about it. My administrator would like to see these classes structured as PBL and incorporate more STEM. I'm somewhat concerned that this may be difficult with my 7th graders as most of our curriculum is Earth science. If anyone teaches a project based class I would appreciate some advice on how to set up a PBL classroom.
For advanced concepts, try "life science in rhyme...." free on amazon. It might be a good NGSS resource.
