Hello everyone,

The National Center for Atmospheric Research will be hosting our annual Super Science Saturday event for kids and families virtually this year, on November 6 from 9:00am-3:30pm mountain time. We're planning a full day of short online demos, experiments, and activities, including 'What’s the Big Deal with Carbon Dioxide?', 'It Really IS Rocket Science!', 'NCAR Wizards Hide-and-Science', a family dance party, and a science activity for our youngest participants offered by our friends at Beanstalk, among many others!

This event is free and all are welcome! Please spread the word to people who might be interested in participating on November 6th, and keep an eye on our web page for upcoming details, schedule, and Zoom pre-registration.

Thanks,
Becca Hatheway

Hi Becca. Does this event happen every year? Is it in more cities across the US? It looks super exciting.

Hi Mary!

I'm the NSTA rep with NCAR|UCAR SciEd now and would be happy to answer this question! We do this event annually and are planning on having it this upcoming year, however the format is still being decided for this year's event (in-person, virtual, or hybrid). As far as I know, Super Science Saturday is just an event hosted by us, however many places may have events with similar concepts. You can sign up for our Newsletter to receive information about the 2022 event here: https://scied.ucar.edu/newsletter. We hope to see you and your students this up coming year!

My Best,

Emma Hagen
