Hi Nourhan! When I taught this, I started by putting a label at the top of two chalk boards – one said food chain and one said food web. On the food chain, I asked the kids to come up and put ONE food for each animal and identify how much of the energy was transferred to the next level. We also labeled herbivores, carnivores and, omnivores. Then, on the food web, they labeled ANY food. The kids noticed how simple the food chain was and how complex the web. Of course, in today’s world, you would probably do it on a SMART or Promethean Board…
