Tools in the Classroom

Hello!

I'm currenetly in school to be a K-6 certified teacher and am in a STEM class, we've been talking about tool use in the K-6 classroom. I was just wondering if anyone has made use of simple tools such as drills, hammers, or saws in their younger grade classrooms and if so how you did and how it went.

A 'retired' friend of mine offers an after school and summer 'builders camp' that includes the use of simple tools, starting at the first grade age range. The students love it and safety is a key concept taught and enforced.
