Creating Digital Notebooks

My district is going 1:1 with Chromebooks for the 2017-2018 school year.  I've always used composition notebooks for my science class, but I'd really like to go with an electronic version of a notebook.  Any suggestions for formatting or useful apps to create a digital notebook?  I thought about using Google Slides but I'd like to have separate sections for homework, notes, and section for resources.

I've recently started using OneNote for typing notes in class. It seems like it would be flexible enough for you to customize however many sections you need. Plus, there's browser integration available for screenshots and a phone app for pictures, or notes.
