Ive been working on a lesson plan for my scince class, and it is about students recognizing how landforms such as deltas, canyons, and sand dunes are the result of changes to Earth’s Surface by wind, water, or ice. I have been trying to figure out what other types of activities i can do and use in future classrooms, or any suggestions on websites, books, videos, that can help create activities for this lesson?

Hey Yamilet,

You have a great topic. Here is a link you can use for your lesson.

Hi! I've ran accross several activites that may seem engaging to an elementary child. Using hands on activities are always helpful with keeping new information in our long term memory. This website: https://www.teachjunkie.com/sciences/landforms-for-kids-activities/

has 21 activities suggested for teachers. I liked the 'Edible Landforms' in particular because as they say in the website, 'is edable and memorable.' Students get to experience the texture like that landforms may have by using some of their favorite treats. I hope this helps!

Hi Yamilet!

I think a great way for students to remember how landforms form is to create a flipbook with them! they can have the landform on the outside and the cause of it on the inside or vice versa! This way they could always go back to see how these landforms were created!

I hope this is helpful. Good luck! :)
