Hi Ana! Great question,
There are 4 inner Planets, also known as terrestrial planets, which are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Additionally, there are also 4 outer planets, also known as gas giants, which are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
Some characteristics of the inner planets are that they are made up mainly of rock and metal. These planets are also smaller in size compared to outer planets. Lastly, they are all in close distance to the Sun and orbit closer to the Sun in the solar system. On the other hand, some characteristics of the outer planets are that they are mostly made up of gas, like hydrogen and helium. Outer planets are also larger and more massive compared to the inner planets. Lastly, outer planets are farther away from the Sun and orbit at a further distance from the Sun in the solar system.
