Any ideas or recommendations on how to engage 1st graders in science topics? i have noticed that if it isnt a hands on activity they wont be disopose to learn and i dont know if giving them a worksheet instead sounds like a better idea.

Hello on my opinion students in 1st grade will learn better through hand on activities than worksheet.Let me share this little activity hope it helps.Use drinking straws in a class activity ,make students use the straws to make different shapes like sun,moon and stars.
