Hello everyone! My name is Max Miller and I am a fourth-year elementary education major at Wartburg College. I am working towards my K-8 reading endorsement, but I am very invested in teaching STEAM in the classroom. As a pre-service educator, I have written and executed numerous lesson plans for various observations in elementary classrooms, but I always struggle with timing. It seems that no matter how organized and pre-planned my lessons are, I still end up having to use extra time to wrap up the lesson. My STEAM lessons tend to be very representative of hands-on, minds-on learning and are most of the time extremely engaging, but I do not want to have to shrink them down in order to squeeze them into one 30-minute period. I would really appreciate some tips about time management while executing labs and activities in the STEM classroom, without compromising the integrity of my lessons. Thank you!
