I am a liberal arts MA in the science classroom and I am happy to see your information on this topic. I see the need for ELA skills in the science classroom everyday. I will begin looking for opportunities to incorporate this in every class I teach. I'll keep watching your input, too. Thanks.

I stumbled across your post and resource just searching for "Common Core" material on the NSTA site. What you have here is a treasure. I am so concerned about my science teachers K-12 being turned off by the enthusiasm of Language Arts teachers to impose CC ideas on them. Your Handbook provides just one excellent way to approach effective writing in the science classroom as part of the curriculum, not an added activity. Thank you for sharing.
