Hello, I am a year away from graduating as a bilingual education major and I had a few questions regarding the best learning techniques used for emergent bilingual students who struggle with retaining certain vocabulary words, such as during a science lesson. As we know, some of the vocabulary can be challenging for students due to a variety of factors. One of my greatest priorities would be for them to truly gain an understanding of these vocabulary words and not just memorize their definitions for a short period of time.
