What labs can we introduce students to at elementary level?

Hi Kimberly!

One lab that comes to mind is The Egg Drop Challenge. This lab is a fun science activity where students design a contraption to protect an egg from a fall. This activity would be great for elementary-age students and can be adapted based on their grade level. The challenge encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity as students explore different materials and designs to create a structure that will prevent the egg from breaking. It also introduces concepts such as gravity, forces, and engineering. It's a hands-on and engaging way for students to apply their knowledge and have fun while learning science!

Hi Kimberly, there can be different labs for science in elementary. I remember in elementary doing the bean seed one that sprouts and students observe how the bean has a little stem coming out from it. Also the water cycle, adding water in a plastic bag and putting the plastic bag near a window so the sun hits directly, they can see the water condesation etc. I hope these give you an idea.
