Hello Frida! It is very common for students to just memorize information to mainly pass exams and then forget it. As teachers, we should engage our students in hands-on activities so they have the opportunity to actually experience what is being taught and learn it. Doing so, they get to experience and interact with their peers which overall improves learning. With science, there are many opportunities for students to explore what is being taught through experiments. For example, in a lesson about the life cycle of a plant, students can plant seeds outside or in a clear jar to observe how the seed is developing. Allowing students to collaborate and explore their thinking enhances their learning experiences.
