For my lesson on ecosystems and food chains for 3rd graders, I am having my students glue different ecosystems onto manilla paper and draw the flow of energy. I am struggling with finding a way to describe the flow of energy in a way that the students can relate to and understand. Please help. Thanks.

Describe the flow of energy as how energy is transferred from things. Explain how when you eat, you get energy from your food. That is how the flow of energy works.
