I will be student teaching in the spring and one of the first units will be Earth and Moon. I have blocked periods of 80 minutes once per week with the students and I could use some suggestions for activities that would be rewarding for the students to spend close to an hour on.
Hello Daniel-
The NGSS@NSTA hub has an interactive online activity you can check out. It is called 'Lunar Phase' and is from ASPIRE - Astrophysics Science Project Integrating Research and Education. Here is a link to the page at NGSS@NSTA: https://ngss.nsta.org/Resource.aspx?ResourceID=74
The Stanford Solar Center has some great resources too: http://solar-center.stanford.edu/activities/MoonPhases/
Good luck with your student teaching!
Cris, thank you for the links!
