Hello! I am a junior at Dominican University and I am currently taking my science methods course. My group and I are working on creating a STEM lesson/activity that focuses on density. Any ideas on a fun and engaging activity that will develop a clear understanding of the density concept? Thank you in advance!

It is so nice to meet you. Density sounds really fun! I would definitely suggest finding the standard for your density project here: Read the Standards | Next Generation Science Standards (nextgenscience.org). From there, you can decide what grade and what specific density lessons you can teach. Some fun ideas could be floatingi eggs, creating boats of clay, sink or swim concepts, or underwater color explosions. You can google all of these and they can provide you fun videos to follow and take inspirtation from! I would challenge you to attempt to connect the density lesson to their own lives!
