I'm currently a preservice teacher studying at the University of Arkansas. Many of my readings have mentioned how a key to students finding success in science is motivation. One text suggests that this motivation can be sparked on the first day of class using a science demo. What are some fun ideas for a science demo to do with the class on the first day of school, to get them excited and ready to learn more? I'm thinking demos appropriate for K-6!
