I am a preservice teacher and will be teaching my first science lesson to a kindergarten class this semester. I need help on deciding what my lesson should be over. What are some helpful resources that can help me teach and engage my students about simple science concepts? Do y'all have any favorite lessons that your students have also enjoyed?

Samantha, I would ask the teaching what content must be covered and what they would want you to teach. Sometimes they will be specific and sometimes they will say something very broad and general. If you are observing throughout the semester you may be able to narrow your search. I would go to: http://ngss.nsta.org/Classroom-Resources.aspx to make sure the lesson aligns with NGSS. There are so many resources there, complete with lesson plans, materials list, and hand outs in some cases. This is where I chose Kindergarten and narrowed my search in content. http://ngss.nsta.org/Classroom-Resources-Results.aspx?resource= Who Needs What? is one of the lessons to choose from in that search. https://www.teachengineering.org/lessons/view/duk_sunflower_mary_less
