What are ways to engage students other than using videos or books? For example to introduce the unit about planets
This webpage offers free templates to quite a few formative assessment techniques (FACTs) that rely on active learning. I use many of these and am happy to answer questions you have about the ones I've used.
I would suggest playing games related to planets such as a Kahoot, or even creating a hands on activity. Students could make a planet as a craft and have to explain facts about their planet in front of the class.
Maybe play a game? or do something like jig saw
