HI! We are working on a curriculum revision in my district. I am on a team creating a new properties of matter unit for 2nd grade. I am wondering if anyone has good resources / activities that could help us with the creation of this unit.

Jennifer,
On Wednesday evening, NSTA is providing a web seminar that is based on grade 2 Construct an argument with evidence that some changes caused by heating or cooling can be reversed and some cannot. 2-PS1-4.
Resources will be discussed.
Hope to see you then

I did an Advanced Search on "matter" in the Learning Center and came up with all kinds of great articles from the Science & Children journals. Try that and also try "energy". The Advanced Search is on the left side of the page in the Learning Center.

Hi Jennifer,
Here is a small collection of resources from the Learning Center that focus on teaching about matter. There are science objects, book chapters, and journal articles to peruse. Let us know what you find that is useful to you in developing your lessons on matter. Enjoy!
