This article gives examples of how Science Topics can be used to teach Proportions. For example you can use the idea of density formula to teach proportions. I plan to use this to enhance student's understanding of proportions.

This Way Works - Teaching Time/Distance Graphing

I have been searching for a different way to teach this topic to my students. This Lesson is student centered and requires students to think about what the time distance graph really means. When I use this lesson I will add tables for students to fill in for each of the graph types. A logical next step is to have students try to write an equation for each of the straight lines to stress the point that at time zero no distance can be covered.
