One cool idea is to use flowers and dissect them to see their parts. In the middle of winter grow a couple of Amaryllis bulb. they make huge flowers and students can pollinate them. After pollination, students can see the ovary swell and you can open some later and see the tiny seeds. I noticed the big picture seems to elude students.
