Hey there!
Something that might be helpful is having a short quiz at the end of the week instead of having the students write every week. Change it up! Give the students options to show that they are completing the work that is being asked of them. Choice boards are always a fun thing to do--yes its a little elementary but it could work. Give the students an option to show you what they are doi...

This was an amazing post! I, for one, am in love with the night sky. I love being able to watch the different phases of the moon and I love seeing how the sky changes. I'm from Miami, so there is a lot of light pollution. However, with cooler nights comes clearer skies and it has been absolutely beautiful. I've had projects where I have had to observe the moon and its different positions in the sk...

Collection Review
This collection contains a good variety of journal articles. However, I think that the collection would have benefitted with a variety of resources such as science objects, scipack information, etc. Something that I find great is the range from elementary all the way to high school. I think my collection would have benefitted from a range of grade levels. The collection is much like the collection I put together; it includes information about recycling and environmental education. I enjoyed reading the different articles and catching some that would have been great for my own collection.
My favorite article in the collection is “Teaching Through Trade Books” This article identifies children’s literature that relates to food chains and food webs; it builds on how to incorporate these into the science part of your teaching. It introduces core concepts and ideas that relate to literacy. It highlights the benefits of incorporating literacy and science. Another article that I liked a lot was the effect on seat location for exams. This article tells about students being arranged into groups in a college classroom. The article was a great read but it proved that more research needed to be done. I am pretty superstitious in that I always take the same seat in a classroom to ensure that a learning habit is formed.
Overall, there are weak and strong points in the collection. There is great variety and great resources but it could definitely use different types of resources. It would have been interesting to see a different perspective tie recycling and greener living in the collection, as I did in mine.
