John F. Loehr, PhD, the Vice President of STEM Education for Science Olympiad, works with volunteers across the country to support the administration, development, and evolution of Science Olympiad events. In addition, he manages the content creation and development for various workshops and hands-on learning kits.
Prior to joining Science Olympiad, John’s career included time as a classroom teacher, educational researcher, consultant, and administrator. John’s work as a classroom teacher and educational researcher has been published in many publications, including the American Biology Teacher, Journal of Research and Science Teaching, Science Education Review, the Handbook of College Science Teaching, and more. John holds a BS in biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a MS in biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a PhD in science education from the University of Virginia.
