I do think it is great, Ginger, that your school is able to provide the technology for your students to work with. I am surprised though that the school is able to get away with making the students have to provide themselves with such an expensive piece of technology. I have definitely found that music and videos helped my students to learn material and concepts in a way that connects with them better than we could imagine. I understand that it may not be for all students, but it certainly does relate to a good number of students.
