Sustainability & Bio-Mimicry
Sustainability & Bio-Mimicry resource collection has several journal articles addressing these topics with different lessons and activities. The journal article “Clued In” to Their Environment talks about an activity that helps students become acquainted with Florida’s natural environment. This activity helps students understand the layout of ecosystem by creating a floor size map where they locate the different areas and land marks. This activity is great since it can be adapted to any ecosystem. Another article “How Low Can You Go?: Interdisciplinary Student-Impact Investigation for Environmental Awareness and Sustainability looks at waste and how to make students aware of the impact they have on the environment. These journal articles very interesting and can be used for different grade levels; the lessons can be adapted from elementary all the way to high school. A growing science study such as this is essential for our well being in the future, therefore it is of major importance to educate students on this topic.
