My name is Avis Carla Williams. I prefer answering to my middle name, Carla. I am a mom of a beautiful, creative, intelligent and an old-soul nine-year old daughter. Also, I’m a newlywed wife of one-year and a half to a federal security officer/lay-football defense coach. In the past I taught three years, as a teacher for the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing. In 2016, I became a new teacher for the Clarke County School District. Throughout my 13 years of experience starting as a paraprofessional in the general education and special education classrooms, I have noticed the diverse needs within schools. Last year, I had the wonderful experience of being a general education teacher that served ESOL, English as a second Language, and DHH students. During this time, I noticed that my students that struggled with language concepts, specifically in the area of math.
