This collection actually ended up surprising me. I thought that I was going to be reviewing just 6 research articles, but it turned out that a lot of these resources in this collection were very interesting, and definitely caught my attention. There were also different types of resources in this collection. There is a web seminar included, which would definitely be very helpful in learning this content. There was also an article on creative writing, which was my favorite from this collection. Having student think and write creatively about what they are actively learning in science is a great concept. This strategy will let students see science from a different perspective. Science is a lot of data and evidence. Being able to add creativity and fun activities into the lesson is what will give students the motivation to be interested and to learn the content. Another activity included in this collection required students to imagine themselves as droplets of water going through the water cycle. This activity is very useful and could be used for many grade levels. There is one more activity that could be used in the classroom asked the students “How can a drop of water travel around the world?”- The point of this activity is for students to play detective, collect data, and solve the mystery. These activities help students learn about the water cycle in a whole different way, rather than the traditional textbook and paper work. These activities and journal articles encourage students to do hand on creative lessons in the classroom to keep students excited about science. These activities also ensure that students will be actively engaged in the lesson and in the activities, which gives these student the benefit of learning science with different strategies.
