I agree. Often teachers are told their children are too young to understand or do a specific activity. If the students are open to learning, I say let them have it. Often when I have my little guys they will ask about something else in the lab that I have out for older guys. I explain it to them. When reading this article, Project Based Learning came to mind. It slowly scaffolds the concepts. Each base idea is presented, discussed, handled and understood prior to moving on to the next idea. The end result is a project which utilizes all these concepts in a real world application. If only we did this initially, ideas would not need to be reviewed and remediated.
