After teaching in the elementary classroom for over 20 years, I worked as a Science Specialist for Mesa Public Schools. I loved being out in the classrooms seeing what is going on and helping teachers connect with each other and with great science resources. Two years ago I reitired from MPS but currently took a halftime science coaching position in another district. I also teach science methods courses for NAU. It is fun to interact with the faces of our education future. As the Arizona Science Teachers Association Retiring President, I have the privilege of meeting teachers from all over our state. We have some dedicated teachers 'way out west'! Right now I am very engaged in getting ready for the Next Generation Science Standards. The NGSS Framework has been exciting to think about in terms of implementation - science and engineering for our 21st century learners! It's a great time to be in science !
