This article allows you to incorporate grade appropriate trade text books into the classroom. The lab/activity is geared to two different grade segments in elementary school. The lab for grades K-2 seemed to be fun and I believe the students would enjoy and learn from participating. The standards are clearly tied into the activities at the bottom of each section. This helps to bridge the concepts taught to standards selected for this lesson. I can't wait to try this with my classroom!
