How Do You Think About the Flow of Electric Current Through a Circuit?

by: Page Keeley and Rand Harrington

The purpose of this assessment probe is to elicit students’ ideas about electric current. It is designed to identify the mental models students use to explain how electric current flows in a simple circuit. The probe is best used with middle and high school students. If materials are available, consider showing them the simple circuit. A materials list, teacher notes, standards, assessment, safety notes, and references are provided. This book selection also includes the Table of Contents, Preface, Acknowledgments, About the Authors, Introduction, and Index.
