Shell Science Teaching Award

Recognize excellence in science teaching and learn how to submit a competitive application for the Shell Science Teaching Award. This prestigious award honors one exceptional K–12 classroom science teacher who has made a lasting impact on students, their school, and the broader community through outstanding science instruction. The recipient receives $10,000 and an expense paid trip to attend the NSTA National Conference on Science Education. Two finalists also receive expenses paid trips to the conference. All K–12 classroom science teachers are eligible to apply.

Shell Urban Science Educators Development Award

Discover how the Shell Urban Science Educators Development Award supports STEM educators teaching in urban settings. This award recognizes seven elementary, middle, or high school science teachers by providing $1,800 to attend the NSTA National Conference on Science Education. Recipients also receive one-year memberships in NSTA and the Association of Multicultural Science Education (AMSE) and become part of the Shell Educator Cohort, providing valuable opportunities for professional learning, collaboration, and networking. In addition, awardees participate in workshops and presentations designed specifically for urban educators at the NSTA National Conference, helping strengthen the future STEM workforce.

All individuals receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points for attending the live seminar and completing the end-of-program survey. A certificate of participation is not awarded for watching the recorded version of the program.
