by: Victor Sampson and Sharon Schleigh

The purpose of this activity is to help students understand food chains, the interactions between trophic levels, the interdependency of organisms, and how energy flows through a system. This activity also helps students learn how to engage in practices such as using mathematics and computational thinking, constructing explanations, arguing from evidence, and communicating information. In addition, the activity is designed to give students an opportunity to learn how to write in science and develop speaking and listening skills.
