This collection has a multitude of lessons to choose from, all ranging from a wide variety of topics related to earth science (Green Schools, rocks and soils, water, insects, plants, and the sky). Each lesson plan is connected to standards and includes objectives, materials, instructions, grade level considerations, and an assessment. It also includes copies of handouts that go with the lessons. The lesson plans, however, could include differentiation techniques based on other things such as culture, gifted and talented, etc.

The author provides several earth science activities on rocks identification and classification, soils, and erosion. Each of them is easy to set up and inexpensive. I do have an issue with the lesson on human uses of rocks - while arrowheads are fascinating and fun to look at, looking only at them introduces the misconception that we no longer use rocks in our daily lives and should be complimented with additional lessons looking at current uses for rocks in statuary, buildings, etc.
