This is a fascinating problem based learning scenario about not only a genetic disease but all the different ways it affects individuals and families, socially, personally, etc. There are links provided but the only one you need is the last one to the website that contains the entire unit. The PBL format gives students a "real person" to tie all the information to in a meaningful way and is an excellent way to deal with a very complicated but increasingly important topic - who does have access to our genetic information and how does that affect our quality of life?
